i guess this is a moment that has been 3 years in the making. a tender moment between two characters who have gotten to know each other very well, immediately undercut by a slightly cynical joke about nostalgia. im sure everyone saw this coming from a mile away
also taking a shot at a song that i didnt care much for back then. it was everywhere when i graduated and i still heard it being played in stores in my first month of college. in retrospect, there are things to like about that song. its very plain and basic reggae, albeit canadian, but the more traditional instrumentation was refreshing, especially after having just emerged from the dubstep crevice and heading straight into a full decade of everything having the same exact trap beat. i still dont like the lyrics to that song tho

vh1 behind the music voice: like ub40, magic! was a well respected reggae band in their early days before the the release of their first single to reach number one in the US and UK, marking the beginning of what fans consider their "sell-out era"
