FPS
Added 2025-12-15 02:08:37 +0000 UTCWith all the PC upgrades I am also considering rendering all future animations in 60fps - this means double the render time, double the simulation time - but double the ... fun? Possibly?
Right now my animations that are rendered in Cycles which is majority of the ones you see are 30fps. (Other than furry ones).
I think 60fps animations look good and smooth so it would be nice to also "upgrade" to them although 30 fps can look "cinematic", has different "feel" for motions and impacts, is easier for me to animate and has half the frames to render out and sim.
Either way I'm going to YOLO and have the long animation also be 60fps.
I'm doing it for no good reason other than I just felt like it at the moment 😎 <(the person who is going to regret it later)
What do you think? Is 60fps something you think about when looking for "quality content"? It's something that makes you enjoy the animations more? You tend to look for upscaled animations from 30 to 60? Or you don't care / don't think about 30/60fps difference?

Put my vote for 60fps because I’m interested to see what it’s like, but honestly if you end up not liking the extra time it takes and demand on your pc then I’m perfectly fine with you going to 30 fps instead, chief. I’ll support ya regardless!

2025-12-22 01:44:41 +0000 UTCI mean it could be nice if it isn't too demanding on you, but I don't think it would make a huge difference. Maybe I'm wrong, it's hard to say.

2025-12-15 19:39:51 +0000 UTCTo be honest I voted for the higher frame rate but didn't thought about the fps before you mentioned it here. So I guess it's not that important but could be nice for the future. Maybe you could do an animation (the same one) in 30 and 60 fps for comparison, if your time allows it. I also saw your newer post and file size isn't something I would care about but also depends on the internet people have I think. I would say in the end it comes down to whether you want to take the extra time for rendering and simulation.

2025-12-15 03:52:06 +0000 UTCI did not vote for the higher frame rate, but mostly because of what it might do to the file size.
