FPS #2
Added 2025-12-15 11:51:46 +0000 UTCAfter some discussion and good consideration that I forgot about and was mentioned is comments is file size π€
Since I have to keep videos compatible with everyone I have to use h.264 codec instead of h.265 or AV1 which is less efficient way of encoding videos.
From my quick tests - basically every video size will also double, which at this day and age might not be a big deal but in the end it also adds up. (the long RPG animation HQ and LQ versions were 1.62GB and 900MB respectively - which now would put them 3.2GB and 1.8GB)
Will take that and other things mentioned in consideration, and might ultimately use 30/60 the same way as before, so for semi realistic stuff 30 and furry/weeb/stylised 60.
I don't think that my animations so far were "hurt" for me doing 30 fps so changing it to 60 would be bit of an artificial decision too.
I still have plenty of time before me doing first keyframe in the long project as Im setting up the scenes and models, so might ultimately decide against its use in it in the end.
Feel free to vote in poll in previous post !

True, but if you use too low/same bitrate for 60 you will encounter more artifacts in video if its not going to be sufficient enough. The tests I've done were by High/Best presets in both cases for 4k30 and 4k60fps video and generally the difference was ~2x ish in filesize, although I did it on short videos. ( 80 MB > 170 MB)

2025-12-15 12:27:59 +0000 UTCVideo size will not double if you don't change the bitrate of video. Other words: 30 and 60 fps with same bitrate have the same file size.
