Episode 18: Revisiting JFK w/Oliver Stone and Abby Martin

Legendary filmmaker Oliver Stone talks about his new JFK assassination documentary with special guest host Abby Martin.

Stay tuned after the interview for a postscript detailing how the JFK assassination was an Establishment or deep state production that must be placed in the context of the post-World War II US imperial project for global dominance.

Part 9 of our Destiny Betrayed series on the JFK assassination, this episode also features Hailey Rounsaville of TheKultureDotTV.

Special thanks to Casey Moore for the episode art and Dana Chavarria for the sound engineering!

I'm going to assume that he meant that in some kind of mythical/metaphorical sense...

Humans hid from prehistoric beasts, for certain - but not dinosaurs 😆

Amazing episode

I don't know exactly what to make of Gorby, but I have a grimmer assessment of him than Oliver. He never should have trusted the Americans. As for Cuba, there are different theories as to why they never went back. One is simply the agreement--subsequent presidents didn't want to break the US word. And after the Bay of Pigs and the removal of the missiles there was no suitable pretext. Another theory is that Cuba gave the US a better pretext for backing all sorts of right-wing state terrorism across the hemisphere to fight the Cuban Communist Conspiracy.

Appreciate the bibliography at the end. Great interview as well, even if I bristle at the positive feelings re: Gorbachev lol. Would be interested to know what Stone does think about why Johnson ultimately didn't pursue more direct and aggressive involvement w Cuba which he sort of raised briefly as a question.

It was a conversation between Dan and RFK in RFK's office.

Untold History mentions a Robert Kennedy Daniel Ellsberg interview in 1967 but I can't find it in a google search lol anyone seen it?
