They then trace the imperial intrigues which unfolded throughout the Eisenhower years. Most notably, they discuss how American deep statesman Allen Dulles played the long game to seize control over the Indonesia's vast resource wealth.

Pretty much, though Tito survived, as did Yugoslavia until the end of the Cold War meant that their socialist system was no longer acceptable to the Masters of the Universe.

Really enjoyed how you made sense of the Dulles Brothers (carrot and the stick metaphor) and that the CIA in the early 50's was seen as "the State Department to unfriendly countries" or even unaligned ones. Funny how those countries whose leaders get assassinated or pushed from power abruptly or out right coup'ed seem to have massive reserves of natural resources or strategic military location to reserves. Mossadegh, Arbenz, Lumumba, Goulert, Sukarno, Nasser, Tito, Nehru, Nkrumah - and how quickly we got in there (before Kennedy and after Kennedy).
