This show has serious well written story both with characters and the portrayal of war and politics. What hurts must this episode is seeing Thorfinn gasp and just becoming numb to all the atrocities at such a young age. Makoto Yukimura is a genius and there is so much more.

I like this, cause its quite realistic. In anime you'd think that English soldier is some bad guy for hunting Thorfinn, but no, the mother did the wrong thing by not turning him over and got the village massacared.
It flips normal tv tropes on its head

Another 10/10 episode. You will see a lot of them in both season 1 and 2. Another peak series you guys are reacting to right now. Its so much peak it is hard to contain it all.

This episode was so good and emotional. Feel so bad for that woman and her daughter and the ending scene with the comb was just heartbreaking.
And yes, the writing is amazing and it just gets better and you can already see how much the creator Makoto Yukimura have dedicated to show how cruel the world can be and it the historical parts with the Vikings and their mentality in their time.
