Re:ZERO 1x18: "From Zero" // Reaction & Discussion

Good end discussion, I can at least trust you guys to understand all the psychological things that is happening in this show. Episode 15 and 18 made Re:Zero easily jump to my top 3 anime of all time.

y'all should check out Castlevania. Its 4 seasons total 32 episodes. New sequel is dropping on Netflix on September 28 and it looks amazing. TBH you might not even need to watch the original show to check it out as I think its only slightly related. It's a cartoon not an anime btw.

Nope, she really loves him and Subaru already said that Rem is basically like his second wife by saying that she is the girl he loves the second most. So Emilia better accept it that Rem will always be by his side if she wants to be with him.

I love this episode so much- its so rare that a story is driven so well by character interactions and growth. This is where I started to fully sympathise with Subaru.

This is my absolutely favourite episode in the whole series and I've been waiting for you to react to this ever since I heard you guys first form your opinions on Rem. In light novel 9 there is a side story which tells what would've happened if Rem had said "Yes, let's go to Kararagi and live together" to Subaru. It is actually a really fun little snippet to "What if..."-life of Subaru and Rem years in the future with a family etc. Very heartwarming.

I don't know of any other show that has a 1 to 1 dialogue between 2 characters for 25 minutes, that leaves the audience as entranced, slackjawed, and wondering where the time went, as this one. There is very little out there like this episode. Every line hits like a Mack truck. Peeling back the layers of the main character, so the audience can see how he has been bluffing and covering for his self-loathing and insecurities for 17 whole episodes.

This is the episode that turned half of re:zero fans to despise Subaru for rejecting rem. The other half re just tell themselves "at least he is not lying to her". Lol Rem best girl !!!!

The reason why rem tells him she loves him IS NOT BECAUSE she wanted to be accepted and to be love back, but to tell subaru there are people who likes him. Rem clearly knows subaru loves emilia. Rem's fanbase making all the negative noises in the anime community

I love the 'You think it's easy to give up' conversation, they're both having two completely different experiences, Rem hears him talking as the things he has gone through in Lugunica, everything Subaru says is about his life in the real world. It's all just his internalised hikikomori shame.
