2023-09-19 08:39:56 +0000 UTCI adore serial storytelling like anime and whatnot and certainly think it excels when it comes to really getting to know characters and also discuss and think on the show week to week. But there is something so special to me about the level of immersion films can provide. With shows there are cliffhangers and questions raised that won't be addressed for a while and more room to theorize about stuff, but with films you're forced to be in the moment more I feel. The director and editor have complete control over the pace at which you experience the story, and you have to fully give yourself over to that. And I just think that's beautiful. But yeah this movie is especially special, and I'm really glad you mentioned the editing.
