Wow! 22 MINUTES of commentary and dissection about the movie 😂.

Zay was right when he mentioned strange events happening on set. Linda Blair (Regan) and Ellen Burstyn (the mother) both suffered back injuries during filming. The harness Linda wore that attached her to the mechanically rigged bed came loose and her lower spine was fractured. Linda said in an interview that the screams you hear in that scene are real. The mom also suffered a serious back injury when the person controlling her harness kept yanking her to the floor too hard. The movie was so controversial at the time and Linda's performance was such that critics insisted that no normal healthy child could have given such a performance and religious zealots declared the film and her role to be blasphemous. She and her family received death threats and they lived under police protection for a while. The film the put Linda Blair on the map - she was nominated for both a golden globe and an acadamy award for best supporting actress for which she won the golden globe - hindered her career as she was typecast in following roles.
