Hey guys... thanks for doing my request! As I said to you in the live stream, it's no Kubrick film, and I agree with both of you not top tier cinema. Yet for those of us who are die hard sci-fi fans, a worthy interpretation of Arthur C. Clark's vision. A great explanation for what happened to Hal, and the monolith representing an alien entity so beyond our evolution that it might as well be God. By the way, not sure if you caught that the Russian commander was Academy Award winning actress Dame Helen Mirren, long before anyone knew who she was, or the fabulous career ahead of her.
