This was fun to design. Starting with the idea how MonsterHunter maps work, I made up a point A to point B map with a few routes and secrets. I wanted to make something where the faster route is more dangerous, but the longer routes are easier. Some missions may require a certain route or have you have to figure out which route works best.
While thinking of route times was at the forefront of design, I also just want it to be fun to explore. Both for people just looking for preds and those searching for secrets.
For a good while, missions will likely not be available and only few areas will be worked on at first. More my cards be placed in the main town and developing the events in there before truly diving into the forest area. Most likely I will make the Snake hunting mission a thing tho~
Even while designing this layout, ideas were coming to mind. (It's almost to a fault itself because it balloons the project. lol) Such ideas like the tree top lookout area, adding a chill Grovyle that seems to be everywhere; Perhaps a Zelda - Lost Woods area, missions, Easter eggs, etc.
I've already gone and mocked up all the areas as crude tile layouts. Will likely include a code so the player can still explore them, even tho unfinished.
