It won 2, but no acting awards and Come What May was not qualified for Original Song because it was written for another work originally that it was cut from. Such a stupid rule that the Oscars haven’t changed to this day

Joined specifically for this……….to start with anyway. Love you guys’ enthusiasm and energy just in the YT intro alone.

Joined your patreon to watch this reaction. This is probably my favorite movie. So creative, so beautiful. It won a few oscars if I remember correctly.

My husband and I have been watching your Youtube channel for awhile - Game of Thrones brought us in, but when I saw you did Moulin Rouge, I had to join the Patreon. I hope you explore more films in the genre! I always have to recommend Hamilton on Disney+ - absolutely phenomenal experience.

joined patreon so i could watch this! and i'm looking forward to what all is to come. this is one of my favorite films. some facts: - the moulin rouge was a real place. it means "the red mill" and it did have a red wind mill like in the movie. the elephant was real to life too, and was actually an opium den. there's pictures of a glass enclosure at the top that very well could have been a reclusive apartment like satine's. - there was also a roller coaster on the grounds of the moulin rouge - telouse le trec was an actual person. he wasn't really a little person either, but he had a condition where his legs broke in childhood and never grew to their full length. he was a painter who painted the courtessans and cancan dancers at the moulin rouge, as well as made posters advertising it. a lot of his dialog in the film comes directly from letters he wrote in his life - nichole kidman actually broke some ribs during filming and scenes where she's filmed from the neck up (like when she's doing the quick change scene and says wistfully "a real actress") she's in a wheel chair this film is pretty mixed. either you love it or you hate it. it took me a second watch to really appreciate it it. it's part of baz's "red curtain trilogy" which inclues romeo + juliet and the movie strictly ballroom. strictly ballroom is one of my favorites. it's so ridculous but so much fun! i definitely think it'd be fun for you to watch the other two in the curtain trilogy and just see how they compare in style and form. great reaction!!

If you liked this move, you should give Baez Luhrmam’s adaptation of Romeo and Juliet a go.

Yes they were actually singing. My favorite Nicole Kidman shows are Days of Thunder where she fell in love with Tom Cruise in real life. The Peacemaker an action movie with George Clooney and my pick for her best performance is in the limited series Big Little Lies that she is currently putting together a season 3 to. If you do a show this should be on the list. I don’t love the broadway version of Moulin Rouge because they replaced most of the music with 21st century pop songs and where the movie picked for emotion and applicability to the scene I think the broadway producers relied too much on the popularity of the song.

You picked the perfect time to release this I am extremely drunk off of an entire pitcher of mint juleps that I drank during the Kentucky Derby. I think it adds something to the movie. I appreciate this movie more for its artistic quality than entertainment value that I get from it. I do love the soundtrack and my best friend loves this movie. I’ve had a great time watching this along with you, even if I’m not following it as much as I usually am. The actor playing the clubowner has been in many many highly regarded films. You probably know him best from his character in season seven of Game of Thrones. If you haven’t seen it, yet, I suggest Rocketman as a follow-up musical to this one.
