As someone with an Hispanic mother, I can relate to this! I cry like a baby everytime I see this, Mama Coco is so sweet and she breaks my heart every time. The world of the dead is so breath taking! And so very beautiful, its such a rich and colorful culture with so much meaning. I love Dante, I have a Chinese Crested/Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless Dog) mix as well as a Chihuahua. Believe me Xolo dogs are clowns like Dante is lol. We (Moms side) have an ofrenda as well, that we put out offerings, as well as pictures of loved ones who have passed for Día de los Muertos.

2023-07-03 05:21:27 +0000 UTCAwesome reaction! Thanks for doing this one guys!!! I totally agreed with Cam about parts having similar/basic tropes as other Pixar productions. But I also think by keeping the tropes similar, they created a feeling of familiarity and relatability for audiences being exposed to a different culture and custom. Likewise, this film meant a lot at the time for kids that didn’t always see their family, language, or culture reflected in a movie like this. It still does.
