The scene where the alien pops out of the guy's chest in the diner is from the movie Spaceballs. The scene in Spaceballs was a parody of the original scene in this movie. They even got the same actor, John Hurt, to reprise the role for the scene in Spaceballs.

Also watch the Director's Cut version of Aliens if you can. That's the version that Ridley Scott wanted to show, and it explains things better. The Theatrical Cut is good, but the Director's Cut is better.
