[process] soft theurgy boys

Here's the process for this drawing!

1. Thumbnail sketch in my physical sketchbook! I like doing thumbnail / ideation sketches with a pen because it keeps me from getting too particular about it.

2. digital sketch

3. clean lineart - I used the stumpy pencil brush as I've really been liking the slight textured look it has

4. color flats

5. simple shading and blushies with a soft brush - shading on this is done with a dull blue color on multiply

6. another round of shading - this one was just put on the whole drawing and then erased where needed to get that backlit feel

7. Color adjustments - here I added a color adjustment layer to up the warm tones to help with that warm/soft feel

8. Added an overlay and screen layer - the overlay layer has a blue at the bottom and an orange at the top, both subtle gradients - the screen layer is the soft lighting on the edges with a light yellow color.

9. Added another screen layer under the lineart to give it a bit more of a glowy feel without washing it out, added the hair shinies on this layer too. And then added a couple stray hairs for Des! All done!
