1. Layout sketch on paper!
2. Digital pencils! Having this many characters in a scene makes this pretty slow for me ;;
3. Digital inks! Thankfully the background in this scene is pretty simple when there's not a crowd to draw.
4. Flat colors! Based off the colors I established in the intro page, but trying to simplify a bit.
5. Shading for the background. This is a blueish color on a multiply layer, and mostly gradients.
6. Background details - adding web decorations and a glow from the lights, which is added with an overlay layer and a soft brush.
7. Character shading
8. Some layers on top of everything now -- this stage adds a blue multiply layer to make the scene a bit darker.
9. This stage adds a bright purple and red overlay layer to help with the lighting
10. Final touches - I added some.. dust particles? or something? And some more purple light blobs on an overlay layer.
