Hiya guys, here's some process info for this page!
1. layout sketches on paper -- I rewrote the order of this scene about halfway through drawing it, but I didn't want to redraw the layouts, so I ended up cutting them up and mashing them together to get the right panels I needed
2. pencils/sketch layer! In the last panel, I'm using a 3D model from Clip Studio's asset store to get the perspective right.
3. Inks - I changed the dialogue on this page, so some word bubbles got moved around. Inked the background in the last panel with CSP's perspective rulers, and then the rest in Photoshop. I've been using "Real G Pen" in CSP and "Mr Natural Brush" in Photoshop for the inks on this comic.
4. Flat colors! I'm really happy with Aurelius's design, but gosh he is a pain in the but to draw and color -- so many little dumb details ;-;
5. Shading! The shading on this page (/scene) is done with a purple color on multiply. I tried to keep the background shading a bit simple so the books didn't get too complicated.
6. Adjustment layers! On top of everything but the speech bubbles. This page includes: An overlay layer with a yellow gradient for the lighting from the window, an overlay layer with a purple gradient to make the shadows a bit deeper, a color balance layer that bumps up the reds a bit, and an Exclusion layer with cyan on a really low opacity. Each of these have a really small difference individually, but I tend to mess with these adjustment layers to get an overall look I like.
