Base Foraging

Winter is coming and with that approach, it's time to gather roots and driftwood.

I have a spot in my city, there is a set of train tracks that runs along side the river and under a bridge. Lots of interesting things end up here.

I'm also taking in the natural sights, always a surprise to my imagination. The world is "unnatural" don't forget that when building your scene.

Here's the haul. The most intersting material I found is in the upper right corner. It seems to be some kind of burnt off rust, melted or scraped away by the wheels. There was trail of it near the tracks at a point. Whatever these are madebof, they will be great for my upcoming set of 40K scenery.

Happy Sunday, I'm off to paint my Norn emissary!

Paint the world,

-Sam

I don't but have heard tale of it. I usually set things out in the sun to dry but there wasn't much sun the other day. Sometimes I'll find a bug stowed away :)

Haha, Like a pair of signature shoes, it's definitely the dirt pulling the wins!

When you use elements from nature for basing.. Do you bake them in your oven for a bit to sanitize them? Or something like that?

Wisconsin dirt - the must have to bring home painting trophies!
