Episode 2 Weekend Update

Early progress update this weekend~

Last week my plan was to do some more work on the milk bar location, as well as some faffing about with a side project. I've worked a bit on the side project, and I've come to a realization.. that side project is unlikely to bear fruit. In regards to that I will let you all know some more details about it.

The idea was an "unfolding" style idle game inspired by the likes of "Crank" and "A Dark Room", focused around alchemy and featuring ingredients harvested in lewd ways. Having gotten about 50% of the "intro" sequence to the game set up I have come to realize that I need more experience before doing something like that, with the repetitive nature of idle games and the limitation of being text only I am so far unable to make it fun to play. With enough time put into working on it I am sure I could piece together something moderately enjoyable, but more importantly for now; it wasn't actually all that fun to work on either, so I'm going to drop it for now unless there is a particular interest for it based on the information I have given so far. Still a valuable experience though, one that I have definitely learned a lot from^^

That being said we're still left with the problem of art massively lagging behind the writing in Episode 2, and very little to do to fill the gap. In that regard I have got a question for all of you (I'll be running a poll for it). How comfortable would you guys be with me taking a 2-3 week break from working on episode 2 and instead do a round of polish on Episode 1 and putting it on steam? I'm thinking it might help garner some interest for the project with the wider audience, and might in turn help fund art for Episode 2 quicker. Whether or not Episode 1 would have a pricetag on steam depends on the views of the artists who's work I was allowed to use for the project, but either way I would at the very least try to get all my current patrons a redeem-code for it, so it would be free for you guys <3

For once I don't know what I'll be doing next week, it depends on the initial results of the poll, either I'll be working on Episode 1 and researching steam publishing, or I'll continue to write for Episode 2~

This week's image is by Shadify, its a YCH I bought and have been allowed to use it in Episode 2. Usually I commission images for written scenes, but in this instance I will be doing it the other way around.
