Fee Changes + Update

Hi everybody.

No doubt you've probably heard already about Patreon's upcoming fee changes. If not, here's the article.

It's basically leaving those pledging lower amounts stuck paying more than they intended to. Patreon claim to be giving more to us creators, but it doesn't sit right with me. I've been totally fine absorbing the previous fees myself. They claimed to have run it past creators before hand, but I hadnt heard about it at all. It's extremely unfair of them to just drop it on us all out of the blue like that.

I wanted to let you guys know that I'm not happy about it. Everyone who pledges is going out of their way to support the art they like, and that's incredible. I can't put into words how thankful I am for all of you, no matter what you are able to pledge.

Patrons who pledge at high tiers are wonderful, but patrons who can only pitch in a little bit are the backbone of many a support network. Shoving these fees onto smaller pledges just seems backwards to me, and very unfair on those who can only pitch in a little.

It's not due to be implemented until the 18th of December. Which is really crap because it's right next to the holidays and I'll also be away, unable to monitor everything after it drops. In anticipation all I can really do as a creator is edit my current tiers to try and keep them relatively the same for you guys.  I'm going to be doing my research until then and I'll let you all know if tiers are going to be edited before the 14th (that's when I leave for two weeks.)

I'll have to see what happens when I come back from holiday at the end of December. In the meantime, I completely understand if some of you need to drop your pledges. Balancing your books is much more important so I wouldn't ask anyone to stay if they are being backed into a corner with these fees.

If anyone has any suggestions or questions, please ask in the comments! ;v;

Thank you for your patience <3

Yes! I did my best to try and accommodate it ;_; Hopefully patreon changes their mind though..

Is it possible to set reward tiers to odd numbers? If so, one could do the math to calculate a tier amount that would cost the same. Not sure of the effects on the creator side of things, though.
