patreon

Hi everyone, I would like to express something

It has been about a year now that I have dedicated my full time doing patreon. It has come to the point where I have to consider about its growth.

I have been struggling for quite a long time now but I think that it seems to grow really slow and staggering, ...can't even make it pass like $500 a month. It's quite a stress to me checking report at the end of every month to see the progress. I'm really clueless now on how I should continue or making it better. I feel like I'm missing something else. Not even sure if I'm on the right path or not.

So I would like to have some time-off and talk to anyone else I can. If you don't mind, I would like to hear some of your opinions or any kind of advice you can give me.

Thank you so much for reading and I appreciate your great support so far.

maybe a 3$ version for SFW- 5$ version for NSFW + vote polls next girl - 10$ version for NSFW + + any alts like cum or futa idk and 10+ for all versions and the whole file... just some suggestions for most artist this setup works its not your art that is bad its perfect so maybe a big change in rewards is the deal :)

Thank you so much for all of your feedbacks, I'm sorry if it looks like I complain. I suppose I just need to calm down a bit, give it more time to grow and believe in what I'm doing.

Yeah what DM_5 said, add in a $5 tier that just gets the NSFW art. And polls, polls are never a bad idea.

I think the jump from $1 to $10 may be a bit too much. I'd add another tier for $5 that had your NSFW pieces, but no previously-missed work. A second idea would be to allow patrons to vote on what images you want to make. You could pick 3-5 characters you want to draw, and give the $5 patrons 1 vote, and $10 patrons 3 votes.

Also, have you tried posting your older SFW content to social media like Facebook or Pinecrest? That might generate some new customers who will pay a few bucks for new content..

Most of the artists I patron have more options and higher tiers for commissions. I usually opt for the middle of the road packages, but a lot of people seem to like commissioning their own ideas.

Had another thought, some people like more interaction with those they give money too it seems to me. So perhaps a stream where you work on some basic art and interact with them? You could simply play a game even and just provide a venue for conversation and interaction? More likely to keep active patreon if they feel you are more a friend? Might not be comfortable with that or some other reason to not to it. As I said in other post just throwing out ideas to try and help. =)

The Gumroad thing might work. I know little about it but I do know other artists use it. Might be something to look into. I already suggested. You could make either another tier or add to the $10 one, where if you stay subscribed you get say a one char commision after whatever amount of time you think is good, Saving up "credits" or something. Perhaps toss in a super basic background for it too. Another thing to keep in mind is not to sell yourself short but also not to over charge. People always want a better deal. Know what your worth. You could have a drawing/contest for patreons once or twice a year so either every 12 months or 6 months that they could win a custom piece of art? More than the 1 char pic. Perhaps a 1-3 char pic? You are only able to enter the drawing if you have been an active patreon for however long you think is good. I don't know. Just tossing out ideas. Things that encourage people to stay as patreons for you. Part of it depends on what you want to do and how far you want to go too. If it's a burden and you hate it, you won't enjoy what your doing and it probably won't grow as much as it might of because that will bleed through? I said before i think the 3 pieces of missed out art is great. You might want to find other artists who seem to be doing well on patreon and send them a message asking? Worse they say is no?

I have a few ideas... 1) Marketing. You have to sell yourself. You are on Patreon and DA, but what about Facebook, Twitter, or your own website. 2) Ask the folks that left why. See if it is something you can change to keep them or gain others. 3) Make more on what you already do. If you charge too much you will loose people. Maybe you can sell the art to those that don't want to pay monthly. Some use Gumroad.com 4) Talk to your current followers and see why they follow and if there is something that they would like to see from you.

Eh. As a former patron, all I can really say is that $10 a month is just too much for my budget. Like, it's either 4/5 (admittedly good) nsfw pics a month, or my Netflix subscription...
