Blade of the Battle Hymn & Paean's Protector (Rerelease)

Hello everyone!

Thanks to the generous support of our patrons, we've been able to hit our first goal extremely quickly. With the passing of our first goal, we're excited to begin the process of transferring our backlog of items into our new format. We'll be releasing one every other week until all of the backlog has been completed.

This week, we decided that it was only proper to release the Blade of the Battle Hymn and the Paean's Protector as a pair. They were meant to be together from the beginning and it didn't feel right splitting them up.

A look back from Matthew:

Two of our first items that we ever released and they still hold a bit of a sentimental place for me. When we first got started with this, our plan was to just release a few items between homebrew systems in order to keep up some interest and get people involved. We weren't really aware how much people would enjoy the magic items until we started putting them out.

I'll never forget the first time that I found out someone had given a character a Blade of the Battle Hymn in their game. It was a really special moment for Fernando and I as we had always said that success for us would be when someone uses our items or systems in a game. This was the first time I remember hearing about it.

People really took to the Blade of the Battle Hymn and its partner shield. It's still one of our more popular items today when we roll it out from time to time. People just really seem drawn to the "killstreak" mechanic of it.

For the musically inclined, the song on the blade is actually a pretty well know tune if you were to play it.

The shield is one of the first times I've ever designed an item to share in the power of another and it was a really unique exercise. I quite enjoyed getting to do something a bit different and expand my repertoire. I hope you love them as much as I do still.

We couldn't be more excited to begin this task of transitioning our backlog to the new formats. We're both big fans of the new layouts and we're quite excited to get all of our magic items to be matching in their quality of layout.
