The KraCan (Rerelease)

Hello everyone!

The time has come for our next backlog rerelease and this time we are putting the infamous KraCan into our new formats for everyone to enjoy. This little wiggly can packs a powerful punch when you unscrew the top.

A look back from Matthew:

Ah yes, this one is actually a really great piece for a lesson we learned really early into this. See we weren't sure how a bit more of a "silly" items would do. Up until that point all of our items were relatively serious and belonged in very straightforward fantasy, but we decided to take two chances on this one.

First up we decided to go with a little humor. The idea of having Kraken tentacles flying out of a can was pretty silly to begin with as was the idea of someone getting yanked inside so we also wanted to lean into that with the pun filled name. The note on the outside was one of the first things we thought of and it stayed through every iteration of the can until release. I'm so glad we leaned into humor with this as it helped us realize we could make some different kinds of items in the future.

The other risk we took was its steampunk stylings. Up until this everything we made was very straight fantasy focused. We decided that with the Kraken being part of the theme, it made sense to lean into more of the art deco or steampunk style. In doing so, we opened a broad range of options to us in the future which I'm quite proud of.

We're so excited to continue working through our backlog of items. There's so many good trips down memory lane to come and I really want to share all of those with you. I often remember a lot more about the item when I get to write these posts so it's amazing to me to revisit them.
