Greetings adventurers!
Tinkering and tooling away, the dwarves are known for their seemingly miraculous machinations and the Drudgeworks are some of their pride and joy. Interconnected by a series of telepathic crystals and possessed of a learning mind, these machines are truly wonders of modern engineering. They do come with their own risks though, but I’m sure all will be fine. These gloves are made from the same type of electromagnets that come equipped on the Drudgework Skitterers, I wonder where you got them…
Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.
If that strikes your fancy, consider becoming a Patron
Design notes from Matthew:
Well, I’m personally extremely excited for this series to begin. We’re working with Tom Cartos on a series of items and creatures called the Drudgeworks as part of his Dwarven Bharzul theme. There’s a lot to explore with them, but first and foremost we have these gloves that are made from part of the Drudgework Skitterer (which will be released tomorrow to patrons).
We really had a theme of magnetism going with these from the start and each of the Drudgework creatures will have a theme centered around working in some part of Tom’s Dwarven society. These gloves had to possess an interesting magnetic core that could give you the power to manipulate metals, but I didn’t want to go all out and just allow them to yank people around the battlefield. That’s less fun and more just a menace to interact with.
Something that I haven’t seen as much use of as I would like is the disarm mechanics. I think it’s a fascinating ability to rip the weapon away from your enemy and possible render them useless for around. Granted this does little in the way of good for fighting things with natural weapons, but in humanoid heavy interactions I could see these gloves being something special. I wanted to give the opportunity to then use the weapon you had disarmed so it was a natural step to give some options to equip it afterwards.
We’re so excited to begin this new series. We hope that you’ll enjoy these creatures and items as much as we’re enjoying making them. I’m particularly excited for the Skitterer’s release tomorrow as I think the art and mechanics of it are some of the best we’ve put together!
We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
