Greetings adventurers!

Typically you wouldn’t find us plodding around in an artist’s college, not that there’s anything wrong with the arts, it’s just that we’re usually more in search of something exotic than oil paints. When we heard of a wizard who could bring her paints to life in a very real way we were convinced. It turns out that she did in fact possess a method for painting something to life and we were eager to learn. It did mean I had to enroll in a 3 week seminar course, but I think it was well worth it in the end so that we could create these dashing pigments.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

This one might have been a bit close to Fernando’s heart in that he’s the illustrator here at AB, but I have been a lover of the idea of painting something to life for some time. In my homebrew world, the origin of halflings has them being painted into existence by a deity of creativity. All that to say, the idea of painting something into existence is a concept I’ve found extremely interesting and something that I wanted to present to you all.

When it started, I just had an idea for the case of paints and painters tools, but Fernando added the undo symbol over it with the stipulation that he wanted a magical undo button. I thought that was absolutely hilarious and relatively easy to write into mechanics with a reroll. That wasn’t all that complicated to put in.

The original intent though of summoning companions into the world, well that was a little more complicated. 5E has some spells that can do this, but it required a bit of tweaking to make it work with this item. PF2E also has a specific spell that works well for this, but required me to set some definite number for it. In the end, it was a bit more fiddly to get this to a balanced point than I thought, but I think we did well.

Creativity is something that we hold dear here at AB. It’s why we started this whole thing, to give ourselves a creative outlet and share our personal brand of TTRPGs with the rest of you. Making something that celebrates that creativity and brings it into game worlds, well that’s just a lovely bit of gaming inception.
