Greetings adventurers!
Communication is such a complex field of magic. It’s amazing in a world where we can twist rock and earth, raise the dead, and even move the heavens above, that communication is still one of the more difficult things to get a grasp on. I have known for some time that a method of conveying greater amounts of information over longer distances could be quite useful, but the form is what never made sense to me. One day one of the neighborhood children left an origami bird on my windowsill. A little gift from him left me with a spark of inspiration. A bit of work and well, I think this one will surely get the message across.
Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

Design notes from Matthew:
I’ve always thought that it was a bit odd in a magical realm that most of your methods for magically enhanced communication across distances is Message and Sending. This stands true in 5E and PF2E. Sure there are other higher level options, but you would really think someone would have figured out a method of communicating somewhat quickly over distant terrain. Since that isn’t the case, I thought it was my job as a creator to find something to occupy the space between.
The nice things about Message and Sending are that they are instant, but then come with a few costs of their own being space or sacrificing the amount of information that can be communicated. I decided to be rid of most of the amount of communication and distance costs and instead add in a time cost. Traveling great distances with greater amounts of information in exchange for expedience seemed like an interesting method of balancing a new item for a new niche.
I based the amounts traveled off of actual carrier pigeon flight distances in a day. It was rather surprising to me how much distance they can cover, but that’s just one more interesting fact to add in. Another additional that I wanted to make that I had yet to see in long distance communication was the option of a simple drawing. Communication with someone and showing them a crest rather than describing it could make for an interesting moment and I wanted that option.
I’m always looking for interesting ideas to occupy the uncommon level of items. I think that there’s a lot of potential there, but I do find them more challenging to develop than some of the more higher end items. That’s fun though because half of the joy of this whole thing is challenging myself to come up with more interesting items.
We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
