Geyser

Greetings adventurers!

The power to control the waters can mean much for those that wish to wield them. Providing nourishment to the thirsty and life to the plants of the world, it’s true that water is one of the core building blocks upon which we all rely. It’s amazing then that something so basic to life can also be so dangerous depending on the form it can take. This trident for example, came to me with an infusion of a waterlily already tied to it giving it both miraculous beauty and strength. I dare say this is one of the more lovely pieces in my collection. I find myself holding it at times just to see the waves washing around it.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

If that strikes your fancy, consider becoming a Patron

Design notes from Matthew:

I’ve been wanting to make some more things that toy with the elements as we know them and theme some more items around those elements. You will have seen the Lightning Rod recently and I consider Geyser to be almost a second in that series. You’ll probably see more elemental based weapons and gear in the near future. I try to draw influence from all manner of sources, but sometimes going back to the basics and making something from a well known source can be inspiring.

This is one of those rare items where it ended up that the 5E and PF2E versions are quite similar to one another. The returning rune from PF2E was easier to implement than the returning on the 5E version, but that’s because the system already accounts for that sort of thing and builds it into the language of the game.

For the geyser implementation, I really had this strong idea of visually what I wanted and it was more just writing the mechanics to make sure that they got across the visceral nature of sending a foe high into the air and having them come crashing down dealing fall damage as well. I think it’s a fascinating little mechanic that can make for a bit of fun as well.

This item pairs with our creature that will be dropping later on today, the Waterlily. I’m so excited to bring this one to you as I think the artwork on it is some of the most beautiful that Fernando has ever crafted. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I do.

We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
