Kel is dying from the battle with her now-deceased creator, and Lassa was also damaged from her contact with Bad Bree's hand. (Lassa forms the handle of the heart blade) Now Lassa and Moonblade are in danger of going down with the ship, so to speak. I hope that makes sense.
