Hivemind(ed) P1 & A New Month, a New Plan!

Page two coming tomorrow!

First of all: thanks everyone for your generous support. I want to give my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have been doing so either monetarily or socially/spiritually.

Before I get into the amble I'd rather start with the preamble.
To make this informative post be as informative as fast as possible; I shall be uploading a comic page per day from now on, with commission works being uploaded in bulk when the customer is satisfied. The daily content shall be interim content until those who've commissioned me give the greenlight to post what they've ordered.

The daily work schedule at the moment is as follows:
- 4 hours on a comic page.
- 4 hours on commission work.
- two to three hours+ on ???

The reasoning:
To save from boring you via a lengthy soliloquy transformed into an e-essay, it is primarily for this reason alone: the comic work that I produce is now taking an astoundingly long time per page to make, with low financial returns. I also want to set achievable goals for myself to stop myself from spiralling from guilt and simultaneously produce content for y'all.

I appreciate every penny that I get, but it is stressful trying to get, say a good 10-20 pages out a week on the earnings that I am currently receiving. To compound this I'm often missing upload targets due to unrealistic goals too, thus spiralling my mental health.

I know I often miss deadlines, but believe it or not it gives me a rather distasteful dose of guilt every time I feel I've disappointed all of you, so I need to set myself some tenable production goals to counter these issues. A shift in the paradigm, if you will.

I owe you all a lot, you know.

But this is what the new plan is for.
A time-cost breakdown and how I justify it:

A single page (see above) can take upwards of three to six hours. The time is spent on various avenues, such as:
- storyboarding/ story creation,
- colour correcting, map creation, introducing map elements, lighting, shading, rendering tweaking,
- post processing to enhance the reading experience and correct rendering issues in-engine, which includes composition work,
- creating the rather good looking models that you see in front of you (or shall be seeing),
- wrangling the faces to create more expressive emotional ranges per panel, yada yada.
- perfectionism.

Granted, the 'bimbee' in this piece (one of at least two so far) has been recycled and adapted, but altering her into the bee-girl you see now took the majority of a day to achieve. I also have to be truthful with myself, earning about a 1/4 of the UK's minimum wage per month whilst putting in over 40 hours a week is really beginning to get me down.

So, the idea, that is until I get the new routine established and running to a point of self-satisfaction and efficacy, is that this shall ideally be the new future norm/ model.

What does this mean for the polls? What about the voted-for content?
Ah, thank you convenient remindful voice in the back, what does this mean?
I think for now Hivemind(ed) shall go on until I find my feet, maybe in a week or two I'll get back to 'The Witches Conundrum', 'witch' was voted for next for production! Polls shall continue after this!

Thank-you for your patience as I still work things out. If all does indeed go to plan you shall be getting similar, if not higher quantities of content all whilst lowering the profound stress on myself that's been tugging at me.

See you tomorrow!

P.S. For everyone that I need to message: I shall be doing this week! There's a lot of commission work that is nearing its end!

Thanks for the kind words Six. Again, apologies for the lengthy time it's taken for your commission. We're two pages from completion now, I had a few confounding bumps along the way.

It looks like you are planning 10-11 hours of work a day. That honestly feels like too much to me especially if you aren't getting an actual good wage from it.

Happy to see you feel like you have a better path forward that’ll help you manage your mental health more. That’s the important part. There is no art without the artist. Do whatever you need to in order to take care of yourself as best as possible. (Edit: and don't be afraid to continue to refine it and experiment as needed! I can't tell you what would work best for you, but you first every time)
