So, who here has had an encounter with the paranormal? ππ»ββοΈ

I know, I'm late to the party, but I'm a new follower trying to get caught up. From earliest childhood I remember seeing and feeling things even my closest sister couldn't. Probably my earliest childhood experience was talking to my maternal grandmother and her chasing me around the house with a wet rag because I got sticky stuff all over my face. I was two when she passed. I remember having a crocheted blanket she made and sitting in her old rocking chair having conversations with her until we moved away a couple of years later. That was when I was four. When I was five I dreamt that someone told me the house across the street was burning. I even woke my parents and they went to investigate. Nothing was wrong at the time. Two nights later, it burned to the ground. So, lots of stuff like that through early childhood. As a teenager, I had pretty much put all that stuff behind me and focused on the living. I moved in with a family with five children. In exchange for room and board, I became the housekeeper and nanny. I didn't like the place from the minute I stepped into it. There was a heaviness about it that seemed repellant. Within a week the youngest girls refused to go upstairs to the attic playroom that was set up. They said there was a man in a trenchcoat and hat standing in the corner watching them. Over the course of weeks, it escalated from there. Nightmares were the easiest thing to deal with. Toys were being thrown, kids being slapped and scratched, even the pets refused to come indoors anymore. The parents were in total denial and I didn't want to lose my place to live, so I kind of went behind their backs and sought help from the clergy (and I was not religious or spiritual at all after my experiences; in fact, I hated the subject) if for no other reason than to give the kids peace of mind. The activity escalated from there to a point the parents were being woken and even thrown out of bed by this guy. In the end, nothing worked and the parents, as poor as they were, were forced to move out. The next tenants did the same, and the ones after that. Finally, due to vacancy for so long it got run down and was demolished. After Hurricane Katrina, a house was rebuilt and there's been no activity since. From time to time my gift hits me at odd, random times. I've been told by unseen people that something was about to happen, and it would. I've been approached by one man in my dreams who committed suicide in the woods and I told the police where to find the body (Edit: He'd been dead since before I was born). When I lived in Florida there was a hurricane and we were all locked in to a very old house. In the area that was once the kitchen over a hundred years before, myself and the entire family smelled spaghetti cooking when there was no electricity at the time and we were living off of MREs for days. In Baltimore I had a ghost cat that would come out of my closet and walk out the bedroom door and disappear. Right now I live with something that from time to time will walk through the house, or even appear as a shadow. But he leaves us (my wife and I) alone so we leave him alone. So, yeah, lots of paranormal experiences in my life that I never sought out. And those are probably not even a fraction of them. I won't get into my one and only experience with a spirit board because it's a whole story in itself. And, yeah, there was a time I was going to be an investigator of the paranormal but my sensitivity made it nearly impossible to be objective. So I walked away, and don't regret it at all. It's great to see others doing what I couldn't. Get that evidence, but definitely help those you can; because no one else will.
2022-05-04 19:59:18 +0000 UTCI worked in a small office in Flint for a few years. Things started slow, honestly at first I didn't make a connection with anything paranormal. I would end up having to work late and would notice noises coming from the storage room at the end of the hall. There were times I thought someone was back there and would tip toe to the door and whip the door open and nothing. A guy I worked with would notice the noises and help investigate a few times. After a bit we just ignored it. Then one day I was there by myself. Sitting in the bathroom doing my business (this was before smart phones where everywhere so I could only sit there and count floor tiles to keep myself occupied lol) and I start hearing footsteps coming down the hall towards me. Looked at the gap under the door and watched the shadow of someone walking by with footsteps towards that back room. Immediately thought it was my boss (doors were locked and only a couple of us had keys) so I stated calling out his name letting him know I was here. No one responded, just silence and no one walked back the other way. Came out pretty quickly and searched the building, no one was there and doors were all still locked. Got crazy goosebumps as I realized what had just happened and left Immediately, even got yelled at for leaving lights on the next day. After that I limited how late I stayed alone. Towards the end of my time working there I got stuck working late once again. I was sitting at my desk staring off I to space waiting for the printer to stop so I could finish my project. I then heard running coming from that back room down the hallway towards me. As I looked at the hallway I saw a short child like shadow (looked like a little girl wearing a dress) run right by me into my bosses office. Sat completely stunned staring at his door for a minute then got up and ran in there and turned the lights on.... nothing of course. Had to stay and finish my project with all the lights on. After that the place closed. Still drive by every once and awhile kind of curious if it's still happening.
