Whose plant this is, I think I know Her hut's across the village though She will not see me creeping here to take a cutting and swiftly go. I must admit it's kind of queer to plant a giant gorebush here I give my pruning tools a shake and loosen the ties, a step I take The Plant is lovely, Dark and Deep it's spots glow yellow, it's sap is sweet I pause to admire it's thorny rind Intrusive thoughts invade my mind My clothes are gone, my feet are bare Its woody lips pass over my hair A leather thong connects us now Its cool sweet sap runs over my brow The Plant is lovely, Dark and Deep my body trembles, I'm half asleep my fists are clenched I cannot breathe The gorebush has me, I'll never leave. ...with apologies to Robert Frost
