I had roommate who was Somalian & she had this friend who crashed on our couch for a while who was from Nigeria, I think. Anyway, she made Fufu and she was eating it with her fingers. She told me that it's used almost as a spoon to scoop up the rest of the food. The consistency was looser than a dumpling & almost like really thick cornmeal. The ingredients sound good but it was really difficult to watch her eat it with her fingers, to be honest.
