scene 24 - wip
Added 2018-06-29 16:23:40 +0000 UTCsoo, after driving home on Sunday and taking a little break to reunite with my family + my bunnies 🐰 I could line and color all 11 pages of scene 24 in just 4 days. right now I'm working on backgrounds... just taking a little break to tell you that I'm working on it~
I notice that I'm running a little bit out of steam though and now i'm enjoying ice cream for more energy <3
I know some of my readers will not be satisfied with this, because I had a pretty long break from updates, and my updates are very slow in general. some patrons deleted their pledge? now, right at the end of the month, telling me I only post unfinished work, and stupid sketches. even though i posted wips and showed that i'm working on the update. and it's... well, it's what comic artists do. they work on pages before they post an update. the update isn't just magically there one day. i post unfinished pages and unfinished bits and infos, because the whole comic is unfinished. and it will be unfinished for a looong while (BUT THAT MEANS more time together, and i can spend more time with the boys too)
to the ones who think so, too, or think the pledge this month wasn't worth it: I'm not keeping you here, you can delete your pledge anytime. I just want to ask to please not be rude when you delete your pledge and leave pushy notes in the exit survey... it's not getting any faster like this, even though you might think that this is the way to go. it's not really. and as I said, like two months ago, I offer refunds, too. you just need to talk to me - not anonymously - and tell me what i'm doing wrong.
what I want to say is, that I really try my best and I can't go any faster at the moment, with the merchandise in progress, and my personal life situation etc.
okay but!! I see that so many of you support me in the best ways and I'm so incredibly thankful and I want to give my best for YOU!! i can't wait to pack all the books, put little gifts to your orders, or read your comments and i wish i could reply to you more often, but i know how much the story means to some of you, and I want to cry just thinking about it ;; you make my heart grow and also this sounds a bit gay and super cheesy but i really feel so happy because of you enjoying the story, too.
and right now I'm proud of myself because i think i like how the scene turns out this time~ i might have figured out a quick way to color / paint whole forests!! i really love the brush I use for foliage and plants. it has saved my ass so many times already, it's useful for all kinds of things and i want to use it forever 💘
aaaa enough talking!! back to work, and then there will be an update in some hours - or tomorrow 💙
oh yeah and before i forget: the preorder period for the comic ends on 30th June!

Maybe some people don’t understand what it means traditionally to be a “patron of art” but you do have plenty of supporters who are here just to see you succeed and grow. The idea here is to give you a financial cushion so that you can make your art (that we all love so much) and still take care of your human needs. Treat yourself right! I’m not saying anything that hasn’t already been said but I wanted to add my support. You are pretty awesome. Thanks for doing what you do.

People will be people- impatient, rude, entitled, but as much as a person can say just about anything, it also takes a lot of courage and strength to not let it get you down. I'm proud of you and the progress you've made so far. Slow burn stories have always been one of my favourite types because you can hint at so many things but they'll only make sense later or if you go back and read it again. It's a gradual progression, and people have more than once expressed that you're doing a great job (I mean, just look at the comments above!). Taking time out for yourself, for merch or anything else shouldn't have to mean you get punished for it. It's not like you stopped working on the story as a whole anyway- your wips above are a testament to that!! Alas, just know that there's a good bunch of us eagerly waiting and enjoying your content and that's why we're here :)

It’s not only about what I get out of it... though it always makes my day when I see your notification pop up! You clearly said that you would be slowing down on comic updates to work on merchandise. So...don’t let some people’s bad opinions bother you. There's so much on your plate right now and lately especially. I don't mind at all the updates are slowish and wips. I love seeing them and waiting for the next one. I'm glad you had some time with family and the bunnies. Cheers for having a dependable brush and working so hard on the comic. <3 *hugs and kisses*
