Comments

I hope that she grows from it. The whole thing is just awful.

Ben and Ronnie, thank you so much for being transparent and open about the LeeAnne bullshit. I love the way you addressed it. Ronnie, you are 100% correct. You do NOT nor obligated to share a private convo. But I do appreciate that yall openly acknowledge the problematic bullshit. Also agreed that if we cancelled everyone problematic, we'd have no bravo and probably no blood family and likely no friends, lol. I do disagree, however, that LeeAnne will grow from this. I think she's saying what she thinks are the right things to say to recover from her downfall.

Episode 11:11 make a wish (my family always sees the clock and says that) hugs 😍

Thank goodness for this platform. We can chat right here or on the Discord server. I like my moniker so I’m happy for you to use the moniker I chose. And I hope we don’t fight! Hope I didn’t offend in some way. If so, my apologies to you.

R. Simone

Friend, I'd love to know what the R stands for, honestly, I would love to sister talk/fight with you... No joke.

This was an excellent recap. I loved it and I loved your discussion of Leanne’s UNBELIEVABLY STUPID & DESTRUCTIVE RACIST REMARKS. You guys have mentioned that you are friends with some of the participants of the shows that you recap and it has never bothered me but your talk with Leanne made me feel really proud to be a “Geraldine”. My family has been of mixed racial heritage going back to, atleast, my great grandparents so ppl don’t really know what to make of me. As a result, people “slip up”, so to speak, in front of me OFTEN; I’ve been the victim of colorism within the Black community my ENTIRE life, even amongst members of my mother’s adoptive family. My father told me that when he first became a police officer, one of his commanding officers, who was Black, was especially hard on him and when my father inquired as to why, the commanding officer responded by saying, “Cuz I don’t like yella n*ggas”. I’ve had white Americans use the n-word LIBERALLY around me about Black friends of theirs without realizing parts of my heritage. I’ve had a friend’s white relative proclaim that “he loves dark people” & proceed to call me “Rosita” (not my name & I’m not Hispanic) and have followed me to their bathroom and this is in the North East! Not the South but CONNECTICUT!). I had a white boyfriend tell me that his friends told him that he was gross and that he shamed his dead father by dating me because I’m partially black after they were absolutely kind to my face. A Latino ex boyfriend of mine told me that his mother was “worried” when he found out that I was part black until she saw my photo. After seeing these things, I’ve learned the following: a) if you are an American, because of our flawed history, a bit of racism lives in ALL of us, whether we want it to or acknowledge it or delude ourselves into thinking it does not, it’s there, racism has been a part of our cultural identity since before our country was even it’s own nation, b) it goes beyond racial dynamics but extends to nationality, culture, & actual TONE of skin, and c) it is not always apparent & spotting racism in someone is not always easy. It can be subtle but it is ALWAYS, ALWAYS and, unavoidably, destructive. ALWAYS. Whether it destroys Leanne’s future on this show, her reputation, and her relationships remains to be seen. But, in her case, though I do not know her, I hope that she’d take this experience and figure some shit out about herself. YES, she was being provoked but NOT towards those specific comments. I KNOW and it is on CAMERA Kary mentioning that she was tough because she “comes from Mexico” but LeeAnne’s sarcasm and the term “chirping Mexican” was......RACIST. THAT was not taken out of context. And I LOOOVE LeeAnne. I TRULY hope she SERIOUSLY tries to understand her part of this whole thing & figures it out because my gut tells me that this is not who she wants to, tries to, or aspires to be. I like Leeann. She is TRULY one of my favorite people on that channel. Please, LeeAnne, don’t be defensive and die on this hill. APOLOGIZE, learn, grow...If ANYONE CAN, I believe Leanne can!

R. Simone

I believe that LeeAnne can ABSOLUTELY grow from this. And she NEEEEEDS to but I don’t believe she needs to be cancelled. And I think it’s time to CANCEL “cancel culture”. I mean, we watched Joao Franco from Below Dec:Med call one of his co-workers “whorish” MORE THAN ONCE yet he was promoted to captain by the end of the season, a promotion that was facilitated by a woman. We watched male co workers ostracize Rhylee, disrespect their female co-workers, driving one of them to tears. So, if Leanne needs to be “cancelled”, these men definitely do or is sexism and misogyny not enough for people to be “cancelled” for?
