comic progress 🌿 + important info (please read!)

hey guys, just a few more comic panels / wips! i'm currently working on the storyboard of scene 47, but also on the next few scenes. 

and in case you haven't seen it yet, i have posted a new update on tapas and webtoon yesterday! i like how it looks in vertical, too, i'm slowly getting the hang of it!

on a different note, you might have heard of it already, but patreon is required by law to charge sales tax to some (not all!) pledges, starting July 1st! 

I recommend to maybe read through the article that explains everything: here! But I've also tried to summarize the info for you:

• this sales tax is mandatory and it will be applied starting July 1st!
• It affects patrons in some parts of the US and 17 other countries (see list)
• depending on where you (patron) are from and depending on what rewards I (creator) offer, the sales tax will be applied to your pledge - or not! depending on the tier you are in it could mean you might not get charged even if you are from those countries!
• patreon estimates that only half of the patrons from said countries will be affected (if at all), and the sales tax will be little
• an example of (the only) taxable rewards in my case: downloadable goods (PDFs)

I can't tell you if it will affect your pledge because it depends on where you live, BUT! patreon has given us creators an option to possibly reduce the tax for affected patrons even if they're in a tier that offers taxable rewards.

Basically, I'm able to give values to my tiers (in percentage) and tell patreon exactly what rewards I offer. Because not all rewards are taxable they can use that information to charge the tax more accurately. And I can tell them that you are mostly here because you want to support me and not necessarily because of the rewards (which I think is accurate! and i'm very thankful for that 💕)

For example, $10 full blossom tier! I'm offering all scenes as PDFs in high res and you have access to my dropbox folder.... but I know a lot of you are here mainly to support the comic and because you want it to continue. Because of that I'm able to estimate a value, like "general support: 80%, downloadable content: 20%" Then the sales tax will ONLY get applied to 20% of 10 dollars! Because general support isn't taxable, only the downloadable content is. So the tax can be reduced a lot just by setting those true values and I'm going to try to reduce it as much as possible for you 🌻 so you might not even get charged at all, or only a little.

I hope that was understandable, if you have questions about the sales tax, please ask anytime! (i think every creator handles this a bit differently, depending on how they view their audience; just want to add that the examples I used are specific for my patreon account and your pledge here with me!)

Because of my health situation I can't offer a lot of exclusive rewards and I'm so grateful you're here and support me. some of you have been here from the start of the comic already and I don't even know how to thank you for that (except... giving my best with the comic!!!)

I will also change the tier descriptions a bit, I feel like it's a good time to do so. Nothing will change about the actual rewards! I just want to tweak the description a little, so that it's a bit more accurate to the actual reward situation. Going to change it from "download tier" to something like "mostly for people who want to support the comic" and the reward is a bonus.

As always, I totally understand if you want/need to delete your pledge no matter the reason! I'll keep you updated, and will also show you the new tier descriptions once they're ready. hope you like the wips, too 💙 please stay safe, i love you!
