Meow, I'm back with a new build! Here's a tldr of what's new:
Inventory actionbar with a cute new aesthetic.
First NPC routine introduced to the game, Mave now follows a schedule and moves around the world.
🔎 About the build
Hey, so this update might not look like a big deal on the surface, but behind the scenes, I’ve been completely LOCKED IN, grinding away on this system. It’s been a marathon of troubleshooting and debugging to get NPC routines syncing smoothly across maps. Honestly, it’s a beast of a challenge in this engine since NPCs don’t persist naturally. Tracking event states is a total headache, every map switch resets everything, so I’m pulling off some serious smoke and mirrors to make it work.
I ended up tying NPC positions to the in-game time, which is a bit of a messy workaround, but it holds up unless you’re jumping between maps like a maniac. If you do, things might look slightly off, but it’s the best I can do with RPG Maker’s limitations. No complaints, though, it’s just part of the grind.
Now that I’ve ironed out the kinks and I’m pretty confident it’s bug-free, it’s just a matter of copying, pasting, and tweaking the hours and routines for the other NPCs. So the most time consuming part is now past me.
If you want to try and break the game, just follow Mave around and enter/leave the map at random to see if you can break her routine at all, it would be really helpful :3
🚩 Next Build

I’m planning to include Alna’s overhaul in the game, just look at this cute goober.
There will also be some new interface designs and I’m still laser-focused on nailing the rest of the NPC routines so hopefully 1 or 2 more builds before that's done and I can begin shifting gears back to the prologue story.

Systems
Mave now has a full scheduled routine.
Time is now set to 1 second irl per 1 in game minute (That’s 24 minutes for a full day)
Visual
Included new actionbar design to match the new inventory.
Event indicator in map name now auto-hides after you complete a scene.
Events
Kalala intro event time is now accessible between 06:00-18:00
Mave’s first h-scene is now accessible between 13:00-16:00
Bugs
Fixed a bug where player could get stuck in the shop door when trying to leave the area.
Fixed parallax bug around the stairs at home.
Fixed bug where actionbar slots didn't update when switching playable characters.
Fixed bug where morning message was not appearing at 6:00.
AN INSANE AMOUNT OF DEBUGGING & tons of other stuff that are not in for this build :3
