Hello, amazing supporters! Time for another update!

🚧 Work

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay! Been busy testing some new people to work with and post-closure bureaucracy. I’m also taking a bit more time to pack the next build with a bunch of new systems all at once.

In the last build, I mentioned the inventory system got a glow-up with new tooltip designs, item quality tiers, a character selector, etc. I’ve been building on that, tweaking mechanics for inventory and world-hopping exploration. Right now, I’m reworking all in-map usable items (like farming tools, pickaxe, fishing pole, etc.) to fit the new inventory setup. You’ll see a clear “usable” item indicator in the tooltip, plus a border when it’s equipped.

I’ve also been chipping away at NPC routines. Kalala’s is almost done. Here’s a sneak peek of the first thing Kalala does when she gets home:

These past few weeks, I’ve been testing out different coders to help speed things up and take some systems off my plate as I literally cannot wait until I get to the stage where I can just focus on new content instead of doing mechanics n stuff...

After trying out a bunch of folks, I found a coder who’s a great fit for the project.

Thanks to this, we’ve knocked out some cool stuff, like:

Parallax elements now fade in and out smoothly over time, making day/night transitions look way more natural (no more abrupt day/night switches):

Next up, my new coder and I are tackling the character creation system. Check out this awesome sketch I whipped up:

No ETA on this one yet, though…

Iwbitu’s killed it for all the new discord emotes and is now working on a new scene for our raccoon girl, who won the last vote.

The artist I had taking care of in-game sprites has been on a long break, so that's why I haven't shown any in-game characters for a while 😭

🚩 What's next?

Get the gallery window fully functional.
Update all maps with the new day/night transitions.
Finish setting up all the remaining usable tools with the new inventory setup.
Wrap up Kalala’s and Bonfi’s routines.
Finish smaller routines for Euna, Liza, Velvet, Blix, and Y’reath.
Flesh out crowd NPCs for the current maps to bring them to life.

I keep getting sidetracked by other stuff and mechanics, so I’m really hoping to finish the main party’s routines before the next build.

No ETA on the drop yet since I want to nail all of these things, hope that’s cool with you all!
