Cold cuts will be flying

My mom made me watch Adam too. She invoked Adam Walsh pretty much every time we left the house actually.

Haha I suspected so! To be fair it want the most clear thing and it does sound totally weird but it really is legit 🤣

Thank you. Yes I was thinking of the memory recovery stuff from back then.

I also came to say EMDR isn’t hippy crap, it’s thoroughly researched psychological intervention for trauma. It isn’t similar to the “recovered memory” stuff of the 80/90s. I really hope she finds a registered clinician to help her through this as well as her alternative healing stuff. I worry she thinks she can just “clean out” the trauma and put on a smile. I also really hope bravo is looking after her (but highly doubt they are!) as she tries to navigate these feelings while filming

I propose a best charcuterie scene award in the 2023 Crappies. I predict Potomac

Whitney didn’t explain it properly but it is definitely an evidence-based therapy! Based on her reaction…she has some deep, unresolved trauma. Her convoluted explanation is a clear demonstration of that. Poor woman, I hope she seeks out professional treatment with a licensed clinician.

I've done EMDR with a licensed psychiatrist. It was very helpful to work through some of the crap that went on in my marriage. You basically talk about a specific scenario that happened- then with prompts, the therapist asks you to follow their fingers with your eyes- this engages certain parts of the brain that aren't necessarily used together at the same time. Then you talk again after the eye movements. It basically disengages the fight/flight reaction one has when they recall the scenario they talked about. It's not that you forget about it, or you don't have feelings about it- but it calms down that extreme trauma reaction about it. When done with someone who truly knows what they're doing, it can help a LOT.
