Thank you for articulating this. I am so frustrated with, among many other things, seeing the FFF drag Crystal for this, when they, the FFF have done so much damage to so many and are so good at deflection.

2022-10-21 02:22:23 +0000 UTCBen is right, when Crystal said that “there was a lot more said in that conversation which was very dark” it was after Garcelle and Kyle accused her of baiting Sutton to say “I don’t see color”. She hadn’t brought it up out of nowhere to make Sutton look bad, it was actually a conversation where she was defending Sutton from the group regarding her reaction to Dorit’s robbery. The gag is that the dark parts of that conversation were literally aired and Kyle was present during it. Even if she didn’t remember, Kyle could have pulled up Peacock and seen Sutton talking about how being called a racist was worse than COVID and telling that tone-deaf pool story. But the white women on this cast (excluding Sutton who actually apologized) don’t want to acknowledge the existence of microaggressions because that means that they’d have to reflect on their own behavior and the ways in which they’ve unintentionally perpetuated racism and racist stereotypes. That includes their attempts to portray Garcelle as a bully whenever she shows any emotion whatsoever (painting her as the “Angry Black Woman”) and dissecting every word choice Crystal makes to make it seem like she’s intentionally being dishonest (painting her as the “Sneaky Asian”).
