I think best time to go to Algarve is June, already warm enough to enjoy the beach but not too busy - July / August specially very busy / high volume months. If you go to Lisbon, go for 12th-13th June, it’s the St. Anthony’s day on 13th June and bank holiday in Lisbon, the night before it’s like a whole massive street party in downtown Lisbon. Go on YouTube and see, it’s insane. You can eat the typical grilled l sardine on a slice of bread in the street. It’s amazing. edit: in Porto their town saint is Saint John, which is the 23rd June. They also do massive street parties for that, also worth checking it out.

We can't wait to go back to explore more of the country and the Algarve region is on our list! What time of year is best to go, in your opinion?

Algarve is a region, just like California, so it’s very big. I’m from Tavira, please check it out, it’s a beautiful town - there’s even a NY Times article about it. I’m so proud to see Portugal being discovered, everyone thinks it’s just like Spain but it’s very different. The cuisine is very varied, nothing like Spanish or Italian, and I dare say it’s better than Italian. We have 365 ways to cook cod fish we joke. I could go on and on. Pls do get in touch if you ever plan to go to Algarve or Lisbon region, I would love to hook you up!! ❤️❤️
