As a reader you can avoid putting yourself in Eiji's shoes, but as a writer I have to and it's really... painful... ( . - . ) What he did wasn't right, but he's so full of sorrow and regret for the story he wanted which could not and will never happen. I can't help but suffer for him (but I'm the author, I'm meant to suffer for all my characters no matter how good or bad they are).

Eiji, you should have been honest with Demian from the beginning. You should have just went right up to him and told him how you felt. Even if those feelings weren’t reciprocated, Demian would have listened and tried to understand. That’s the kind of person Demian is; kind and willing to be there for people. You two could’ve talked about the past in a healthy way, and maybe you could’ve gotten some closure so you could begin to heal and move forward. You two could’ve been friends. Eiji, you’re not inherently a bad person; but you crossed the line. Everything you did was wrong. And now, I don’t know if you could ever be forgiven. All of this could have been avoided if you had opened up and been honest; with Demian, and yourself. You owe those boys a sincere apology. Especially Izumi. You could have been honest and more open with him, too. He may not be good with people, but he has the ability to be a good friend. If you had given yourself and those boys a chance, things would have been different. But now, it’s all on you. What will you do next? How will you put things as right as they can be from the pieces of this broken situation?

That's the reaction I expected from readers and I think it's objectively right: if someone does something that's bad, there's no excuse for it, no matter your reasons. As the creator though I find it hard to hate Eiji (even if I don't justify his actions) because writing him and his suffering was so painful that I can only feel sorrow for him (and also because I know he's only making fictional characters suffer and not real people).
