"Aboard the SkyHigh S013, a luxury airline that catered to those of the highest in society, worked an air hostess named Emily. A young lady of Singaporean decent. she had always been fascinated by the skies. Having been born to migrant parents, her humble origins hindered her, but this didn’t stop her dreams as she was perfectly fine with being a flight attendant if it meant soaring above the clouds. Emily first started her career in the economy class, diligently serving passengers and always paired with her signature smile. Her impeccable customer service skills quickly set her apart from her colleagues which was recognised by the higher-ups. Over time, she moved up to business class, and eventually, she reached the coveted first class. The road was long and fraught with politics, but Emily was proud of what she had achieved and the effort she put in to get there. In her mind, years of hard work and dedication truly amounted to something, and it had finally paid off… However, behind her facade of professionalism, Emily harboured deep scars from years of enduring abuse from entitled passengers. Having once been a starry-eyed recruit into airline industries, her passion had truly been tested by those that she encountered, and especially so from those of the upper echelons of society. Expecting decency and civility, she found neither as she encountered those who wielded their privilege like a weapon, expecting her to cater to their every whim with absolutely no regard for hers or anyone’s dignity. In spite of this, Emily tried the best she could as this is where all her efforts had led her. She would maintain her professionalism despite feeling wronged. She would smile through the insults, swallow her pride, grit her teeth and carry on. From the surface, it would seem as if there was nothing, but with each negative encounter, the stress compounded on the once ambitious and hopeful girl - Until one fateful flight, the culmination of all the bitterness she held onto manifested..." Here comes a project that I've been working on for a while, it captures a lot of my own personal favourite themes into one story - I hope you'll all enjoy it just the same ❤️ All characters in this story are OCs and is a work of Fiction.
