I am a little limited by the 3D assets for the gun...but basically the hammer is pulled back halfway, which activates all 5 chambers in the bullet. If you are too late with pulling the trigger and releasing them...then it will explode (Kinda like how Marcus exploded). So it's a skill that not many practice cause they might accidentally kill themselves.
