Lunarette has many names, The Goddess of the Pink moon, The Swan Queen, Lady of Love, and The Sleeping Moon.
As the pink moon, she is the goddess of a few things, namely Romance, Fertility, Kindness and Dreams. She's worshiped mostly by lovers, clerics, artists (such as painters, bards, and poets), druids and hedonists.
Luna has been around for a long time, and she wasn't always a pretty lady that lives in a cute little house out in the forest.
There used to be two moons in the sky, you see.
The pink moon and the blue moon, two celestial gods, a brother and a sister. The blue moon remains in the sky where it belongs while the other vanished a long time ago, remembered by only a select few.
Luna was that pink moon, for a very very long time, but she grew jealous of life on earth, watching humans (or "runemen" as we call them in our setting) evolve, experience hardships, sadness, anger, death but also love, happiness, passion, and life.
She had enough of her life, which consisted of orbiting earth in dead silence, only rarely being able to speak to her sister when the two moons crossed. She'd describe this part of her life as being in a strange slumber surrounded by cold darkness, with the faint knowledge of there being something out there she wants more than anything else... but being unable to reach out and grab it.
So she rebelled against the other celestial gods, taking on a new form on earth as a runeman. This wasn't the easiest thing to do. As the pink moon, she practically launched herself at earth to get the attention of the other celestials, whose reactions were roughly "Jesus fucking christ okay okay!"
She still holds immeasurable power but is closely monitored by the celestial gods, including her sister moon. As you can imagine, they're not very happy with her, watching her frolic on earth with frowns on their ethereal non-existent faces.
