There's still some details to figure out but... she had an encounter with a very powerful transmutation wizard and alchemist. This man is famous for inventing 'the golden touch' spell that can turn any raw material into gold. He wears this proudly, living in a decadent tower of solid gold. This home of his moves around a lot, as it is a big shiny target. He knows this and it's a part of his flex. His tower practically screams 'try me'.
Norael simply happened upon it up in the mountains, and what dragon can resist a tower of solid gold? This was during a time when her greed as a dragon was reaching it's highest point. She was leaving a trail of destruction behind her and was even bold enough to steal from other dragons. Many scars were gathered during this time.
The wizard dealt with her with a simple flick of his wrist, and decided to teach her a lesson by cursing her, telling her that her own greed brought this upon her. He wished her good luck and in a flash, the tower and the wizard were gone.
Norael had an incredibly hard time adjusting to her new body, and in the first weeks almost succumbed to starvation due to her not being able to hunt for food, but luckily she was found by someone...
