Drak here! Our friend group is doing D&D again. I might have shared this particular pic of Honey before but now it's been updated since we started for real. We're doing 5E and Honey is a Paladin with the Oath of Redemption
"The Oath of Redemption sets a paladin on a difficult path, one that requires a holy warrior to use violence only as a last resort. Paladins who dedicate themselves to this oath believe that any person can be redeemed and that the path of benevolence and justice is one that anyone can walk. These paladins face evil creatures in the hope of turning them to the light, and the paladins slay them only when such a deed will clearly save other lives. Paladins who follow this path are known as redeemers.
While redeemers are idealists, they are no fools. Redeemers know that undead, demons, devils, and other supernatural threats can be inherently evil. Against such foes, the paladins bring the full wrath of their weapons and spells to bear. Yet the redeemers still pray that, one day, even creatures of wickedness will invite their own redemption."
I thought this was really fitting for Honey!
Her backstory is about the same, she grew up in an abbey, raised by nuns. Difference this time around is there's a character called Siegfried Templeblade, a paladin of the order of the light. He's a very experienced old man with his fair share of scars but he's easy-going and even a bit rebellious. Honey loves when he visits and he promised to take her with him and train her to become a paladin.
So that's how the game starts and the scenario the group find themselves in is we're all strangers being thrown into an elevator in a city called Volland, leading down into a deep hole. We've all either been fucked over and put in debt or have other reasons for going down there, the idea being that criminals are often tossed down here because of how dangerous it is. If we can bring back something of worth we're free of our debt.
"People go in for treasure, it's definitely not just a normal cavern or underground dungeon, there is dimensional travel involved and not many come back
like 3 out of 5 groups that are sent down there are indentured bozos like you guys"
Honey was framed for stealing stuff from a store so that's why she's there. She's not happy about that obviously but going into this hole is an adventure!
