Just prior to arriving in Arizona last night there were some dreamy CGs over the Chiricahua mountains (viewed from New Mexico). This evening and the next looks less favorable for storms, but out here, one tiny storm can deliver a portfolio worthy lightning shot. Have a look at the HRRR 2Z outlook...

A little activity south and west of Tucson perhaps? Now look at the NAM 1Z outlook...

Nada. I'm not certain how these models resolve weak monsoon storms, but we shall see. Either way, there will be crazy beautiful mountains and lots and lots and lots of snakes, scorpions and what not :D.
I'll post any groovy captures mañana.
