Hurricane and Nonsoon outlook
Added 2020-08-25 16:53:08 +0000 UTCThe last two evenings, California wildfire smoke brought dry hazy skies to SE Arizona. Today and tomorrow the SPC has upped SE Arizona to a marginal risk for storm outflow winds, however the NAM and HRRR are telling the same Nonsoon story.
Above is the more aggressive HRRR's Precipitation outlook for 7PM. Not complaining... Seeing lots of beautiful country out here.
Laura currently appears to be coming onshore Wednesday night around Port Arthur TX to Lake Charles LA perhaps as a Cat2 Hurricane...
A thin strip of >10 inches of rain appears possible over a 24 hour period.
I'll post some lightning shots as soon as I can wrangle some. Stay safe everyone.

I'm from Lake Charles, Louisiana, where we were hit very hard by Hurricane Laura. It still breaks my heart every time I am driving around the city seeing so much devastation and loss. Coming back after evaluating was literally like walking into a 3rd world country or a post-apocalyptical town. The #1 reason I love this place is because the people are extremely resilient! The people make the city a home. We will rebuild Lake Charles, just like we did after hurricane rita in 2005. Thank you for your post! I'd love to catch tornadoes🌪️ with you and your people one day. It's on my life's bucket list! 🙂
