Attached is a two track demo idea recorded with the horrible MacBook pro microphone. I'm calling it "The Iguana Song" for now. This song was used for the backyard lizard section in "Tornadoes of 2020" as well as my Cozumel video.
2021 STORM SEASON PREP
After getting my ass kicked by the "Tornadoes of 2020" edit , I've been putting out fires left and right in prep for the coming craziness. Chaser Daniel Shaw spent half the day Friday curing a dozen computer issues that have plagued me for years. That guy constantly has my back. Clearing the dead trees from my backyard is underway ): and I've fixed my crummy website so the storm portfolio is finally viewable again.

NEW CAMERAS???
Moores law has taking the next quantum leap in the prosumer camera technology. Sony, Cannon and others have announced new cameras with incredible capabilities. Internal 8K video and 4K 120 fps video is now available and I'll likely invest your hard earned money into the Sony A7s3 ($4000), or Sony Apha 1 ($7000). The snag is that personal computers haven't really adapted to this new Sony witch sorcery and editing and viewing the files is problem many are having to troubleshoot.
NEW COMPUTERS?
Since 2016, everything I have edited was done on a 2015 MacBook Pro in Adobe Premiere Pro. This computer traveled the Alley and the world churning out content with only a minor glitch or two here and there. If I buy a new Sony, I'll likely have to buy a new home computer (iMac) and a new laptop for editing / viewing on the road, unless I can beef up this MacBook with stuff that makes it the little train that could.
New iMac ($3K - $4K) New MacBook ($3K - $4K) ***PC people. I know PCs are cheaper, but I've personally had too many earthquakes with them and lost too much sleep in the past... And I'm extremely computer challenged. Right Daniel?
The big question is... Is it worth it? A potential $15K upgrade for 4K @ 120 fps or 8K.
To the production companies I've worked with in the past, spending $15K on gear is pennies. Most use cameras that are $30K - $40K+ alongside $10K+ computers.
So perhaps upping our gear game will be worth it. One thing I know for sure is that new gear with new capabilities makes the chase season that much more fun and inspiring.
