Here's a composite I made of the last six HRRR run helicity tracks stacked on top of each other... (Streaks suggest supercell potential)

Up around the Red River, the signal is currently pretty consistent run to run for a potentially photogenic hailer. The last run has a long tracking supercell signal from my front yard across Louisiana. It's always a great feeling when you drive 8 hours to a dud and the event of the day happens two hours from your home.
The NAM isn't that reassuring an 8 hour drive will even produce a storm near the Red River.

Regardless, the ultra-messy modes expected in the East Texas / Louisiana jungle is detouring me. Definitely had my fill of that this year. So I'm off to the Red River.
I'll post updates here when I can, but you might not want to check back til around 6pm or so.
Gotta Run!
